“ Drive past this establishment on the way to and from work and just about every time I go to town. Watched them demolish and remodel every day for several months. Today we took the opportunity to stop in and grab a bite. There were three of us in tow and since it was after 1PM we managed to catch them after the lunch bunch had raided the premises. We were told to sit anywhere and within minutes our waitress showed up asking what we would like to drink and in just as many minutes we had liquid refreshment. Then the menus followed and we ordered three burgers and fries, Bacon Cheese, Swiss Mushroom and a Veggie Burger. Somewhere close to 10 minutes we had three Burger set ups. We had regular fries and some plank fries they were what you exoect fries and plankers to be, we ate them all. The burgers are not hand made but they are not frozen either and the meat patties were very good not fatty tasting nice sear on em and we ate them all. The veggie burger disappeared without complaint though in all honesty I could not tell you the first thing about one but they have one and it was consumed with enthusiasm by the one who ordered it. Will go back, prices were just right, hope they turn a profit. They have beer on tap and in individual bottles, and assortment of wine and great Weiser water ;-) The water glasses compliment the rustic interior, very comfortable place and very friendly people working there today. Definitely be back. ”
“ Small and cozy with the right meals on the menu. Went for my husband's birthday and he got his favorite prime rib dinner and he swears it's one of the best he's ever eaten in a restaurant.....I think this says a lot since he loves his prime rib. Too bad they only serve it Friday night. ”
“ We thoroughly enjoyed our Friday night, date night dinner of smoked prime rib. Delicious. They were very accommodating of our keto diet preferences. I'm eager to return and try other menu items. ”
“ This place was so awesome. The food looked great, it tasted Amazing, and the atmosphere was just like comfort of a "Front Porch" always welcome feeling. 5 Stars ... ”
“ Wonderful service from, Deb. The food can’t be beat. We all were so satisfied and full there was no room for dessert! I recommend trying the salmon, the prime rib, chicken fried steak, and the clam chowder especially! You won’t be disappointed at the Cook Shack! ”
“ Lovely place with lovely service!! The food was Busting!!!!!! we had pulled pork and baked beans and potato salad , the salad was a little underwhelming but everything else shot me out of this atmosphere !!!!! ”
“ While driving south on 84 we knew we needed to eat, but knew nothing about the area. Let me tell you, this family owned restaurant is WELL WORTH driving off 84 onto 201!! The food was really good and the service was even better. I only managed to take a picture of the remaining bites of the homemade lemon meringue pie slice I ordered... it was that good. We’re from NOLA and, without trying to sound too pretentious, we know good food! Seriously, if you have to make a choice on where to eat in this small town- choose here. Edited to add that the owner is also a contractor and built this place himself using reclaimed materials. The interior has some really cool construction elements. This is place is truly unique! ”
“ It's layed back and talkative atmosphere. Tables were talking across tables with eachother. Owners started dinner for us 45 minutes early. Home made soup delicious. Dinner portions were large. I forgot to take a Pic of my dinner because I just dug in! Huge Chicken fried stake with perfect tasty crust. Thick grave stuck to each perfect bite. Baked potato not microwaved. Thanks for the nice time. I'm looking forward to a Friday night there...Prime Rib I hear. ”
